New Students

New Student Specials

We offer a month of unlimited yoga for first time students for $50. This will allow you time to explore the different styles of yoga that we offer as well as experience a variety of teachers. If you choose to continue your practice with HYL, we extend an additional special to intro students: 3 months of unlimted yoga for $300. This additional 3 month membership must be purchased prior to the expiration of your intro month. Student discounts do apply.

Waiver

All new students are required to sign a waiver. All minors under the age of 18 must have a parent sign a waiver on their behalf before attending class. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your first class to allow ample time to meet the teacher and fill out a waiver. Alternatively, you may print the waiver online and bring it with you.

Parking

There is ample parking on the streets surrounding the building. Evening classes may park in the lot.

Location and Access

The studio is on the Mezzanine Level of the building. Easiest access is from the south side of the building up the exterior stairs to the second floor. Once inside the building the studio is up a ½ flight of stairs.

Studio Etiquette

When you enter the studio, please sign in and complete a waiver before setting down your mat. Feel free to hang out and visit in the lobby as long as you like. Once you do enter the practice room we ask that you respect the fact that it is a “silent” room. Many students come early to meditate prior to class.

Bathrooms

Located on the first and second levels of the building.

Changing Areas

The studio offers separate changing spaces for men and women. Please change in these spaces rather than in the building bathrooms which are accessed by other tenants and their clients.

How to Prepare for Class

Make sure you come to class hydrated but with an empty belly. You will need comfortable workout clothing, a mat, towel and water. All of which are available at the studio.

Experts agree that the optimal humidity when considering lung function for protection against colds, flu and other respiratory problems is around 60-70%.

Enjoy the sweat! It is doing you so much good on many different levels!

Make sure to drink plenty of water before and after class so you do not risk being dehydrated. It is strongly suggested that 16oz of water or non-caffeinated liquid be consumed 2 hours prior to class. In addition, caffeinated beverages such as coffee, many teas, and sodas will increase fluid loss by increasing urinary output. It is advisable to consume equal amounts of water to caffeinated beverages, (in addition to the daily recommendation of 8–10 glasses) to avoid dehydration. It is not advisable to eat during the two hours before class.
